Palo Alto: Santa Clara is trying to increase the sales tax by 0.625% through a ballot proposition in the November 4th election. The stated reason is to bailout the failed county-run hospital system. The tax revenues are not earmarked for healthcare at all. Never trust a ballot proposition.
